EDUCATE CREATE PERFORM PRESENT
Our mission is to educate, create, perform, and present stories of the African American fight for freedom and equality. We do this through performing arts, workshops, and stage play productions. Our vision is to narrow the gap of cultural disparities in our communities, thereby creating more unified communities. We invite people of all ages to join in showcasing and telling our stories through the eyes of local amateur performers. Black History Theater applauds the many talents and gifts of thespians in and around the Pine Belt. Our program offers courses in African American Studies, Theater, Entertainment, Speech, Communications, Journalism, Debate, Writing, Fundraising, and Physical Education. We invite you to join our mission with your financial support or by volunteering your services and knowledge. By embracing the vast richness of the African American story, together we can learn from the past, embrace the present and change the future.
